Van Gogh—Fishing in Spring Poster

Vincent van Gogh painted *Fishing in Spring, the Pont de Clichy (Asnières)* in the spring of 1887, during his time in Paris. In this scene along the banks of the Seine, where fishing boats, the bridge, and fresh spring greenery blend with the light blue water, it is clear that Van Gogh’s color palette had moved away from the dark tones of his Dutch years.
